Critical File Auditing
The main purpose of the Critical File Auditing phase is to ensure the completeness of the list of jobs specified for a critical application. This phase produces a report that is a useful audit tool for sites employing standards to prevent non-production jobs from accessing critical production data sets.
During this phase, DR/VFI compares SMF data collected from Phase 1 with th list of critical files created in Phase 2. If any jobs that access a critical file have not been included as a critical application in DR/VFI, they are not reported on. These jobs may then be excluded from DR/VFI processing or included for further analysis.
